Sitting at ACM Hypertext and Mark B is talking about poetics of links.
From what Andy said outside, it strikes me that links are all wanna-be tour guides. I can imagine they can sell or warn of the wares in many ways, fx colour based on political leaning of target, not just turn purple if the user has been there. What about showing age of what they link to or other rankings?
How can an author insert as HTML COMMANDS maybe? Maybe set a linktype?
Or maybe agent plugins on behalf of the reader?
